FIGHTING THE INNER OPPONENT

20Apr10

After 17 years of training, sparring and competing with some talented opponents I have found that the Inner Opponent is the deciding factor in how well you perform. Dealing with those doubts in your mind of “maybe he is better” or “he has had 50 fights” etc does not help in the slightess. At the end of the day it comes down to expectations coupled with the urge to prove something, whether it be to oneself or others. After coming to the conclusion it is not about winning or losing but more about the journey and not the destination, my game went through the roof. Once changing your mindset to focus on not having to prove anything and just PLAYING “NOT” COMPETING, you will not only improve your game but it will be so much more enjoyable. The CrazyMonkeyDefense Program always looks to stress this to all clients because not only is it a healthier attitude but once learnt it will open a variety of things to you, in and out of the gym, that you thought maybe otherwise be impossible.
